Bringing People Together
  Throughout the year IACU and its members will host and promote various activities and programs. These events will range from entertainment socials to lecture series where people can learn about and celebrate Iranian culture. The purpose of these events is to bring people together regardless of race, gender or religious beliefs. IACU wants everyone to learn about and understand Iranian people and their rich traditions and culture. The following are scheduled IACU events, however, please check back often as other events will be added frequetly.

Iranian Movie Night
Date:
April 15th at 7pm
Location:
University of Utah (Union Theater)
Description:
Two movies were shown. The first, "Persepolis Recreated" was a documentary in English with Persian sub-title. The second was a popular new full-length release in Persian with English sub-title.
FYI:
Movies were free to the public, however not recommended for children.

Nourooz Celebration with Bijan Mortezavi

City Center Marriott
Description:
This was a dinner and concert with the renowned performing artist Bijan Mortezavi. Dinner was included and a cash bar was present.

AVA concert
Date:
March 18th at 8:00pm
Location:
University of Utah (Orson Spencer Hall)
Description:
This concert displayed classical Iranian music, played on classical Iranian instruments, by local Utah musicians. The concert was free to the public, however it was not recommended for children under 5 years of age.

Chahar Shanbeh Souri
Date:
March 14th from 6 to 9pm
Location:
University of Utah (Olpin Union Patio)
Description:
This ancient Iranian tradition dates back to 1700BC in the early Zoroastrian era and is celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday before the Iranian New Year. It is a festival which marks the arrival of spring and the revival of nature. This event was free to the public.
